PROPOSED STATE RULES


By law, public notice of proposed rules must be given by publication in newspapers of record. The purpose of these notices is to give the public a chance to respond to the proposals. Fishing

Vermont Proposed Rule: 06P014 

AGENCY: Natural Resources, Fish & Wildlife Dept. 

CONCISE SUMMARY: The rule adds sections of 3 rivers to an existing regulation which provides a 2-fish daily limit for trout where large (2-year old; 14 - 18") trout are stocked on an annual basis.  The proposed waters are as follows: East Creek in Rutland City — From the confluence with Otter Creek  upstream (approximately 2.7 miles) to the top of the Patch Dam in Rutland City. Missisquoi River in Enosburg and Sheldon - From the downstream edge of the Kane Rd. (TH - 3) bridge in Sheldon upstream (approximately 5.7 miles) to the top of the Enosburg Falls Dam in Enosburg Falls. Passumpsic River in the Village of St. Johnsbury - From the top of the gage Dam in St. Johnsbury upstream (approximately 2.4 miles) to the top of the Arnold Falls Dam in the Village of St. Johnsbury. Moose River - From the confluence with Passumpsic River upstream (approximately 350 feet) to the downstream edge of the Concord Avenue bridge in the Village of St. Johnsbury. 

TYPE OF PERSONS AFFECTED: Anglers; Department of Fish and Wildlife, landowners. 

COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS: Increased fishing effort generated by this stocking program has the potential to generate increased sales at local general stores, fishing tackle shops, etc. 

SCHEDULED HEARINGS: None scheduled.
